Couch Potato

And then it was over

One of the many things shared within my group of close friends is a healthy obsession with the TV show Bones (aka the best show ever). And a pure hatred for Pelant.

Since Pelant (who really should be referred to as the most horrible villain ever) was introduced, our discussions and plans and dreams have been focused on how exactly this villain should meet his demise.

And with demise we suggest a very painful (and permanent) death. It is not enough that he gets captured. He needs to die. Painfully. Please. There can be no chance of him ever returning. Not. A. Chance. In. Hell.

The anticipation for this week’s episode was high. This was it. The end of Pellant.

There might or might not have been a countdown for this episode.

(If you haven’t seen the episode and don’t want to know what happen, I suggest you stop reading now.)

It was a good episode. Right up to the end. Then it was just over and we were left feeling very unsatisfied. That was it? One well-aimed shot and he was dead?

I am disappointed. Where was the agony? Where was the anticipation? Where was the uncertainty? (Maybe the teasers were wrong? Maybe the Pelant story arch wouldn’t end with this episode? Maybe there would be a cliff hanger?)

This was probably the first time in nine seasons of Bones that I wished for a cliff hanger.

They should have ended it right after Pelant grabbed Bones with the bomb, right before Booth killed Pelant. Then the next episode could be Bones solving the newly introduced serial killer case, showing Pelant that she could do it without him, and then ended with Booth killing Pelant. In a more extended (for Pelant much more painful) manner. Pelant needed to suffer. This was too easy.

We are usually a very mellow group of nice people. Pelant just brings out the worst in all of us.

In spite of the somewhat unsatisfying end to Pelant, the end of the episode was quite cute. And now we can look forward to a wedding, right? We might have to have a party for that episode. A party with cupcakes. And cheese.

So what do you think? Are you happy with how this played out?
