Bookish (and not so Bookish) Thoughts #26

June 25, 2015 | One comment

1. I finally read my first Judy Blume book Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret (thanks to Kerry’s #BlumeALong project). I was really looking forward to reading this one because when people talk about Blume’s books, it is always the first to be mentioned (and highly praised). Reading it, I felt a bit underwhelmed. It’s the kind of book I wished I had read when I was 12, and I’m sure I would have liked it more then. I’m obviously not the target audience anymore and it’s always hard when you read such an age-specific book. Some aspects of it, I’m sure would have really resonated with my teenage self.

2. I’m hoping the second #BlumeALong book Summer Sisters will suit me better.

3. I cannot believe it’s already almost the end of June. This summer is going too fast and I’m not getting everything I want (need) to do done in time. That I’m stressed is an understatement.

4. I invested in a Fitbit Flex a while ago and it’s working perfectly for me. It has been a great motivation to walk more, and I’m starting to feel like I’m getting back on track with my healthy habits (essentially eat healthier, exercise more, and find my happy healthy state).

5. My sister sent me this song as a little reward for being good with my attempt to stay healthy this summer. (New music for my iPod is pretty much as good of a reward as new books.) And I love the music video.
