Bookish (and not so Bookish) Thoughts #6

June 5, 2014 | 5 comments

1. I haven’t used paperbackswap in a while, but last week I ordered several books. It such a great idea. I don’t know why I don’t use it more often.

2. Queen will be releasing a new album sometime later this year. I cannot wait. Freddie Mercury is one of my musical idols.

3. I have a soft spot for infographics. Compound Interest have great chemistry related ones. The most recent one explains the aroma of books. Isn’t it amazing?

The Smell of Books

4. I just discovered listnerd. I don’t know how I could have missed this magical place of endless lists.

5. The Fault In Our Stars movie premiers tomorrow. I think it’s gonna be amazing. I promised to wait to see it until Em gets back from her conference (and have a chance to read the book) but I’m not sure I’m gonna be able to wait that long.

6. Heard of Dinovember? It’s pretty awesome. In October, the trouble-making dinosours will star in their own book. I so want a copy.

7. I really want to read Bad English: A History of Linguistic Aggravation by Ammon Shea. What could be more interesting than a book about words and how the English language has evolved?

8. After seeing the CW’s miniseries Labyrinth (based on the bestselling book by Kate Mosse) I had to add Labyrinth to my reading list. Now I’m just waiting for my copy to arrive from paperbackswap.
