May 4 Weeks Fit Challenge Goals

May 2, 2014 | 2 comments

Erin and Kristin are hosting a #4weeksfit challenge. With only 2 months left until this summer’s travel and field season, I’m working hard on getting in better shape. Setting my weekly goals and working on my healthy habits have definitely helped, but now it’s time to step it up.

May is going to be a very stressful month. I’m trying to finish my first manuscript for my PhD by the end of the month (while getting everything ready for the summer) and when I’m stressed I tend to forget to eat healthy, and not exercise as often. It’s going to take a lot of effort to stay on track these next few weeks.

My 3 main goals for May is:

Goal #1: Walk it off
Walk a total of 50 km and work on increasing my pace. Walking is one of the best ways of clearing my head, and being out in the sunshine will also help my mood. And maybe I won’t be so pale when I go home this summer.

Goal #2: Choose water
Drink a minimum of 4 cups of water per day. I’m terrible at drinking water. My average is probably 1 cup per day (or less) but this month I want to get into the habit of drinking water, rather than juice and soda.

Goal #3: Exercise regularly
I want to take full advantage of the new fitness center that finally opened on campus and exercise a minimum of 3 times a week. I also want to work on the 30dayfitnesschallenges to build some muscles.

Do you have any fitness goals for May?
