2016 was a great reading year. I somehow managed to read over 200 books (lots of long travel and living for several months without a tv helped). The top ten books I read this year (as hosted by The Broke and the Bookish) are:

1. Snow Angels by James Thompson (crime novel set in Finland)

2. Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer (non-fiction account of the 1996 Everest disaster)

3. Paradisoffer by Kristina Ohlsson (crime novel set in Sweden)

4. Sandmannen by Lars Kepler (crime novel set in Sweden)

5. Raven Black by Ann Cleeves (crime novel set in the Shetland Islands)

6. The Blackhouse by Peter May (crime novel set on the Isle of Lewis)

7. The Trespasser by Tana French (crime novel set in Ireland)

8. Adrenaline by Sam Capra (spy novel)

9. The Missing by Chris Mooney (thriller about a CSI for the Boston Police Department)

10. The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino (mystery set in Japan)

What were the best books you read this year?
