Bookish (and not so Bookish) Thoughts #63

October 6, 2016 | 4 comments

1. This last week, the weather has been awful. My uncle was right when he told me that mentally, it was probably better to move to Iceland during the summer than during the winter… Except I think I got spoiled with an unusually nice summer and an even nicer autumn, and now I’m paying the price. The last few days has been rainy and horizontal gale force winds. You’ve gotten soaked just thinking about going outside.

2. I’m trying to finally buy a computer for my office. Reading computer specs in Icelandic is interesting.

3. Thanks to a great friend who drove me to Ikea today during lunch, I now have a very nice new dresser (or rather, I have a box of pieces to assemble after work). I also have Swedish food essentials like rose hip soup, lingonberry jam, and rhubarb drink.

4. Other important news is that I now have an Icelandic library card. The local library have quite a good selection of books in English and Swedish. I’m looking forward to reading more paperbacks after months of only reading on my Kindle or iPad.

5. These.

6. I have both Falling and The March of the Black Queen stuck in my head. It’s an odd combination.
