Bookworm Delights

For as long as I can remember, the word most people use to describe me is bookworm. I love books. I love reading. I love everything associated with books. My top ten bookworm delights (as hosted by The Broke and the Bookish) are in no particular order:

1. Finding inscriptions in old books. I never scribble in the margins of my books, but I love finding inscriptions in old books. That little piece of insight to who originally bought the book, or whom it was for, is like a small treasure.

2. Booklists. I adore the yearly best-of lists. And, of course, making booklists of my own.

3. Finding new editions of my favourite books. One can never have too many copies of a beloved book. For books I truly love, I also want them both in Swedish and English.

4. Bookish things. I love all the bookish accessories.

5. Hunting for books at used book sales or old book shops. I can walk around for hours, looking through stacks of used books, hoping to find that forgotten gem.

6. Libraries. My happy place.

7. The smell and feel of a new book. There is something special about holding a brand new book.

8. Book discussions. I can talk about books all day, every day.

9. Finding a new great book and realizing it is part of a long series. Finding a new great series is like meeting a new friend.

10. Book recommendations. Nothing makes me as happy as when someone loves a book I recommended, or when I love a book someone recommended to me.
