Book vs Film: Catch Me If You Can

I’m taking a page from Kate’s book and comparing books and their film counterparts. This time it’s the true story about Frank Abagnale Jr., who successfully conned millions of dollars’ worth of checks as a Pan Am pilot, doctor, and legal prosecutor before his 19th birthday.

I read the book Catch Me If you Can: The True Story of a Real Fake by Frank W. Abagnale (originally published 1980) AFTER seeing the film Catch Me If You Can (premiered 2002).

Catch-Me-If-You-Can

FILM over book, because:

1. The main character is so much more likable in the film.

2. The film has both Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks (and Amy Adams and Elizabeth Banks). Enough said.
